Rough Day

Remember when I said a couple of days ago that Matt's firm had a huge deal signing on Thursday and I would finally be able to see my husband again? Yeah, well, didn't happen. I was feeling so sick last night and I knew I HAD to get Ava into bed at a decent hour or I would not survive. She usually goes to bed around 9:30 and last night I put her down at 8:30. Thankfully, she went to sleep without much of a fight and I crashed on the couch. My poor, sweet husband finally rolled in at 5:30am, only to sleep for 2 hours and go back to work. He's worked until 3:00am a few times lately, but 5:30am is a first. That was a 21 hour work day! INSANE. The good news is that they really are going to sign today and he should have the weekend off to catch up on his sleep.

This morning, I was switching my stuff from Matt's car that I was driving yesterday, back to my car and I accidentally closed the trunk on Matt's key. Actually, Ava stuck her hand on the trunk right when I shut it so had the key not been there, her little fingers probably would have been broken. Instead, the key was broken. This is a really sturdy key, so I was shocked at how easily it bent.

Anyway, I guess it was just the pregnancy hormones or the exhaustion from being a "single parent" for the past few months but I had quite a meltdown. After shedding a lot of tears and talking nonsense to Matt for a bit, I was finally able to get it together enough to take Ava to school. Matt found a valet key to use until we can get him a new one. I'm guessing that is going to involve another trip to the dealership. Ugh.

As if that wasn't enough drama for one day, this afternoon I went to refill our humidifier in our bathroom and let the water running for about a half hour. I'm not sure why I did that because it only takes a minute to fill up the humidifier but for whatever reason, I left the water running.
Wait, it gets worse.
The humidifier plugged up the drain and water leaked EVERYWHERE. All over the counter tops and floor, under the cabinets, even the drawers had 3 inches of water in them! What a mess! It took a good hour and a half plus every towel in the house to clean up. Another lesson learned the hard way.

You poor thing. I am so sorry you've had such a hard time lately!! After the wedding, maybe I can come get Ava and take her to do something fun and give you a break. I hope Matt's work craziness ends soon. That is just nuts!!
