Trying to Stay Healthy

My poor husband has been sick 3 times in the past 2 months. I know it's because of the long hours and stress of his job lately. He has a huge deal signing on Thursday (Lord willing) so I'm really hoping he can take a long weekend off after that. We'll see. . . .

Ava also seems to have caught a cold from her Daddy so I kept her home from her preschool this morning. She's a little congested and her sleep schedule is off. I've been pumping her full of fluids and vitamins so hopefully she'll get it out of her system before it gets worse.

I am healthy as a horse right now thank goodness. I'm not sure what we would do if we were all sick at the same time. I give a lot of credit to all the "super vitamins" that I have to take but I've also found a way to make sure I get lots of fruits and veggies in my system every day. I've been making smoothies every morning and I make sure that I drink the entire blender full each day. I put 2 huge handfuls of fresh spinach, raw broccoli, frozen strawberries, blueberries, an apple, an orange or a lemon, celery, flax meal, and carrot juice. This is what it looks like pre-blended.
And this is the after. It's definitely an acquired taste but I actually really enjoy it now. I know that my baby and I are getting a ton of fiber, natural vitamins, and antioxidants in each glass so I don't feel quite so guilty about caving and having junk food every now and then. I also notice a huge difference in my energy level after I've had this smoothie. If anyone wants to try it, I would recommend adding some splenda at first until you get used to the taste. Let me know if anyone decides to try it!

Hmmmm....I love fruits and veggies, so that doesn't sound all that bad to me! But I'm not sure how broccoli and celery would be with strawberries and blueberries??? I may try it, though. We can always use something healthy in our day!!
